
Artist Training
Specialized artistic training is offered at the National Institute of Arts -NIA head quarters located at the John Larmonie Center in Philipsburg, St. Maarten.
First time students, veterans of all ages, returning professionals, visiting guest artists, who have a passion for the arts, are able to take part in the extensive variety of Classes offered at NIA.
Students registered at NIA train on average 10 hours a week and immerse themselves in several disciplines ranging in dance, drama, vocals or gymnastics.
NIA students excel not only in St.Maarten but also internationally, winning gold medals in dance competitions in Guadeloupe, St.Barths, and France. Several of our students have also been awarded scholarships through the Arts Saves Lives Foundation, Anthony Burrel Breaking Barriers Summer Program, and the Island Territory of St.Maarten to attend Alvin Ailey Summer program.
